Senior Litigation Attorney

Chenoweth Law Group, based in Portland, Oregon, seeks a senior litigation attorney to manage business, real estate, and employment cases.

The candidate should have 10-15 years of litigation experience, be able to manage multiple cases, review and edit work done by junior attorneys, and delegate and track assigned work.

CLG attorneys focus on a range of practice areas, including business and commercial, real estate and land use, construction, employment, environmental, personal injury, insurance, intellectual property, and wills, trusts, and estates.

Job Duties:

  • Work with senior attorneys to manage to oversee litigation
  • Work closely with junior attorneys and paralegals to manage cases, delegate tasks, and track work completion
  • Supervise, mentor, and train junior attorneys
  • Provide consistent review and feedback of junior attorneys’ work to ensure adequate skill development and progress
  • Facilitate collaboration and teamwork among assigned legal team
  • Manage cases from start to finish, including case preparation, deadline management, staff delegation and client communication
  • Communicate clearly and succinctly with clients and provide clear and timely status reports on managed cases
  • Communicate with the court, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel in a manner consistent with established firm procedures
  • Develop and implement case strategies, prepare timelines, budgets and anticipate client expectations
  • Actively participate in the continuous optimization of workflow
  • Participation in firm-wide training

Requirements:

  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice in Oregon
  • 10-15 years’ experience, primarily in hourly-fee litigation
  • Minimum 5 years of case management experience supervising attorneys and paralegals
  • Familiarity with automated case management software systems
  • Experience in training less experienced attorneys
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

 

No business development contribution requirement

This is for attorneys who are not seeking partnership/ do not want to be on partnership track

Reduced billable hour requirement in lieu of increased management/ administrative responsibilities (1300 hours)
